How many pets (dogs & cats only) is one household legally allowed to have?
I know some people that live in Missouri that have about 25 cats and 10 dogs all living in their home. Is this legal? It seems like it would be a health hazard. Their home stinks really bad and there is animal hair all over the place. The animals are very well cared for though, some obese from eating too much food.
Can pets (Dogs/Cats, etc..) have Mental Disorders/Illness?
Hello..My dog, Tizzy is absolutely crazy. and I just wondered... do you think it is possible for pets to have Mental Disabilities like Humans?Tizzy would have her usual 'Mad Half Hour' as a puppy and she is now 7 and she can be snoozing and then all of a sudden she will just wake up and lunge herself at the sofa chair person. She runs around in circles chasing her tail for like 20 mins none stop. She starts howling at Corrie Theme Tune and yet Emmerdale she just watches TV, her head twitches. She chronically barks at any Cat Advert such as Felix or Whiskers and whimpers when programs like The Dog Whisperer come on. When music is playing she will bark at classical music and howl at rock. Yet if you play country she runs and hides behind the sofa.Sometimes she is all excited and bouncing everywhere and other times she is depressed and won't eat her favourite food for 3 days.Has my Dog got some sort of Biplolar Disorder??? Is there such a thing in animals? Tizzy is a Yorkshire Terrier by the way.Thank you. And no. I am not trolling. This really does happen . Mis Ery

Is it better to buy a female or male pet ( dogs / cats)?
well, i dont know a lot of people who own pets, but one of my friends had a female cat and it grew to a certain age and started becoming a little bit violent , and the vet said it was bec of age of maturing or something i cant really remember,,, so is it better to buy a male dog or cat , rather than female?actually i dont not want to do any surgical things to any pet i get,, however in my religion i cant pray where a dog as mmm marked his territory ,,, i heard males are more affectionate is this true?i dont have a back yard,, its an apartment
Wht does it mean when ur pet dog/cat brings you a dead bird in its mouth?
it almost seems to me as if they're giving it to me as a gift.the last three pets i have owned within the last couple years have done the exact same thing and it just seems kinda weird to me i guess. my neighbors cat did the same thing as well..
Are male pets (dogs/cats) more high-maintenance than female pets?
i have a male dog and cat. luv 'em both dearly, but dang, they both can get whiney, impatient... my roommate has a female dog she's so mellow, low maintenance, and soooo go with the flow. wondering if any other pet owners have noticed this with their male pets.
Having pets (dogs, cats, hamsters, etc..) in a house with small children?
My husband and I were wondering, in your opinionwhat are the pros and cons of having pets in a house with small children?pets such as hamsters, dogs, cats, ect... Our opinions differ slightly Being raised on a rescue farm, my father had me around all sorts of farm animals from a very young age, even as a toddlerAs soon as I could walk, I was following my father around the barn watching him and helping with what I was able to help with...whether that was fetching water or holding a can of feed while he checked the hen's nests for eggs...Of course I was supervised with the chickens and the dogs and other all other animals until I was old enough to understand that I needed to wash my hands after touching them I also was supervised in handling of the animals and only allowed to handle them in an age appropriate mannerAnd as a result I'd like to think that I grew up more responsible, more compassionate as a result My husband on the other hand had a very limited number of pets growing up, most of which were not in his care even when he grew olderHowever, as married adults, we share and love our fur babies we have 4 hamsters and one cat, all of which he plays with and cares for just as much as I do. I often catch him sitting in the play pen with one fur ball or another when I wake up in the middle of the night.Man, he loves those little fluffies But at the same time he worries that having pets around small children might be a problem. He worries that having furry pets, like a dog or a cat might make our child more prone to asthma. Or that a pet like a hamster might carry some disease and transfer it to our child... Now, I feel that if properly monitored that keeping pets would be beneficial to a child. The extra dirt around might even help boost their immune system you don't expose them to things like germs when they are young, they are more likely to have a poor immune system as they grow older .He worries that having pets around will make them ill.We do however agree that pets would be an excellent way of teaching responsiblity and compassion...We also feel that having pets is a good way of teaching about death, its how my dad did it . so whats your opinion?what are the pros and cons of pet ownership for parents of small children?including health risks benefits and emotional risks benefits? just to clarify, we're not fighting, just trying to find a comprimise and curious as to what other parents opinions might be should also mention, we are pregnant right now, due in January and both very excitedalso forgot to mention,I've been working with the Humane Society for most of my life, since my father owns a rescue I also have worked as a professional groomer and am currently taking courses to become a veterinary technician graduate in 3 years so proper animal care would not be an issue
